“One of the things we love to offer our families is great workshops and trainings. We are offering several trainings this spring to enhance parents’ and caregivers’ ability to understand and interact successfully with their family member with autism. It is our pleasure to offer these opportunities at no cost to maximize access. Fundraisers, like Bike to the Beach, allow us to continue to provide these programs free of charge!”
RISE for Autism recently hosted its Third Annual Health and Safety Fair for Individuals with Special Needs and had over 400 registered attendees, our largest showing yet! Attendees explored a comprehensive vendor fair and enjoyed snack, snowcones, games, activities, and inflatable obstacle course, a meet and greet with emergency responders, tours of police cars and firetrucks, and visits with Comfort the therapy dog – all for FREE!
It was a wonderful day. individuals with special needs and their families shared wonderful feedback. Here is one great quote from a member of our community:
“I have to tell you my oldest son does not like crowds and really did not want to come. HE LOVED THIS EVENT!!! All 3 of my children really enjoyed it and I too was able obtain some really useful information”.
It is our goal to continue to offer this event at no cost to families and fundraisers, such as Bike to the Beach, make that possible!
