2016 Bike to the Beach Florida Re-Cap
Friday, January 15, 2016 — Bike to the Beach hosted our 2nd annual Bike to the Beach Florida Charity Ride. And, what a ride it was!!! [Click here for photos]
Only our 32 riders and amazing ride-day volunteers can attest to the challenges that we over-came during this ride. With a 25-30 mph headwind and weather that included a Tornado warning, this ride ranks as one of the most difficult rides in B2B History.
Each rider had a different experience, but we all over-came the challenge put before us and arrived triumphant in Key West.
For one fantastic account, please read “Awesomeness in a Tropical Storm”, a re-telling authored by our friend Bari Freeman, who, after 4 years of working with Bike to the Beach in Newport, RI, joined us for B2BFL. This was her first 100-mile ride, but, like our mottos says, “Nil Volentibus Arduum – “Nothing is impossible for the willing”.
And so it goes. Bike to the Beach is about many things: Charity, autism awareness, cycling, fun, friends, etc. But, above all, we take pride in the challenges that each rides holds and how our community steps up ride-after-ride to meet the challenge of cycling 100-miles to support the millions affected by autism.
Take the challenge in 2016. Register for one of our 2016 Bike to the Beach Charity rides.
