FAQs

Does the registration fee go towards the fundraising total?

The registration fee does NOT count towards your fundraising total.  The registration fee covers your amazing ride-day experience.

Tell me more about the $500 fundraising goal?

We have a very flexible fundraising policy: All we ask is that you try.

Bike to the Beach participants are asked to raise a minimum of $500 OR earn 1,000 activity points**. The majority of riders go far above and beyond the minimum; most riders raise $1,000 and earn more than 2,000 activity points.

We count the 1,000 activity points towards the fundraising minimum to allow riders who may not reach the $500 minimum to support the ride by advocating for the cause. Activities taken on our fundraising portal (such as posting on social media, fundraising, and recruiting riders) earn activity points, which are tracked through riders’ online participant portals.

If you do not wish to fundraise $500 or pursue earning activity points, you can choose the GOAL HITTER registration. This option allows a participant to make a $500 donation at registration, which eliminates the fundraising requirement.

We understand that there are extenuating circumstances where participants will be unable to fundraise $500 or earn the 1,000 fundraising points. Please  contact us  if you feel there will be problem meeting your fundraising minimums.

** See “What is the minimum fundraising amount for a team” for team related details.

What if I do not meet my fundraising minimum?

We want you to ride, so all that we ask is that you do your best to fundraise to support the autism community. And our team is here to help you reach your goals. If you need any help, at any time, contact  our team so that we can help you get there.

If you did not reach $500 by the day of the ride your options include:

  • Earning 1,000 Activity points [More info here]
  • Creating a fundraising plan with B2B staff [Contact us]
  • If there are extenuating circumstances. Please contact us if you feel as if you will have a problem meeting the fundraising minimum.

What is the fundraising goal for a team?

The fundraising goal for a team is based on the number of people on your team. Your team goal should be $500 per rider, and individual efforts are counted toward the team goal.

  • If you have a team of 4 people, the goal for the team should be $2,000. (4 X $500 = $2,000).
  • Rider A may raise $1,250, meaning riders B, C & D should each raise $250 to reach the team minimum.
  • To ensure that all participants are stakeholders in our mission and invested in autism advocacy we ask each team member to raise $250 or earn 1,000 activity points by the day of the event.

If you have any additional questions, please review our full FAQ section.

Incentive Points:

Bike to the Beach has an incentive point system that rewards you for both fundraising and advocating for the cause.

There are two types of points:

  1. Incentive Points: Based solely on fundraising dollars raised. Incentive points can be redeemed for online store incentives.
  2. Activity Points: Based solely on fundraising and advocacy efforts and action taken on the fundraising portal. You earn activity points for sending emails, posting to social, and other actions taken in our fundraising portal. Activity points are designed to be a measure of fundraising effort (i.e. – by tracking each dollar fundraised), advocacy effort (i.e. – by tracking messages sent), and event support effort (i.e. – volunteers recruited).
