Facts:

• Every 20 minutes, a child is diagnosed with autism.
• Five years ago, 1 in 2,500 people were diagnosed with autism, today, that number is 1 in 150, 1 in 94 boys.
• Autism is the second most prevalent developmental disability in the world today.
• Autism receives less federal funding than any other disorder that affects children.

Early Signs of Autism:

• Loss or lack of speech by 18 months of age.
• Little or no eye contact.
• Loss or lack of gestures, such as pointing or waving.
• Repetitive speech or actions.
• Unusual reactions to the way things look, feel, smell, taste or sound.
